Dave, Marlene and Christopher thank you for taking the time to learn more about our website, Vancouver Island Hotels. Our family own and operate The Buccaneer Inn, a Canada Select 3.5 Star property located in the picturesque community of Nanaimo on central Vancouver Island.

Our first love is travel. While we're working, we travel vicariously through with our guests. We constantly have to fight the urge to just get up and travel to some new and different place. Whenever we get the chance we take the opportunity and head off on a journey. We have even managed to instill the travel bug into our son, Christopher. He's already been to over 15 different countries! He is as comfortable on the Tube in London, playing boules in Provence, riding an elephant in Laos, using chopsticks in Tokyo as he is playing with children in a seaside village in Mexico.

We built this site to provide you with a reliable, reputable guide for quality accommodation on Vancouver Island. We estimate that we have stayed in well over 1500 different hotels, motels, boutique hotels, boutique motels, boutique style guesthouses, lodges, inns, villas, cabins, aparthotels, pensions, guesthouses, bed and breakfasts, beach huts, youth hostels, dorms, airport lounges, train stations, tents, Westfalia's, campers, campgrounds, side roads and fields. We think that gives us a bit of experience when it comes to recommending quality accommodation on Vancouver Island.
