DUNCAN HOTELS, CENTRAL VANCOUVER ISLAND

Duncan (population: 4,699) lies near the heart of the Cowichan Valley, 40 minutes south of Nanaimo. It’s Totem poles in Duncan BCsurrounded by vast tracts of unspoiled mountain, forest and coastal wilderness and, at the same time, offers a selection of shops and services unrivalled in the region. Often referred to as the “City of Totems,” Duncan has more than 40 examples of Aboriginal totem poles on display along its streets and walkways. The city is a good jumping off point for touring valley wineries or recreational activities in nearby provincial parks. It’s also one of the best places on Vancouver Island for boutique shopping.

We are not familiar with many of the hotels in the Duncan area so we have listed one property that is located on the highway just north of Duncan. We will try to update this site with more offerings in the community. As Duncan is only 40 minutes away from Nanaimo, we would recommend coming north to Nanaimo and staying at The Buccaneer Inn.
