August, Tofino is located on a narrow finger of land called the Esowista Peninsula. Bordered on the South by its boundary with Pacific National Park Reserve and on its other three sides by the Pacific Ocean, Tofino is as far west as you can drive by car or bus and is still the only paved road to the open Pacific Ocean in Canada. This area is truly one of Vancouver Island's greatest treasures. It is a beautiful place with lots to see and do and great places to stay.
We were one of the first ever guests at this lodge in the early 1990's. It has now expanded and includes an adult only section and newer family friendly area. Famed for it's home baked muffins, cathedral high glass storm viewing windows and little known private beach next to the resort, this property (and it's campground, Bella Pacifica) remain one of our family favourites. and private sandy bay. Fireplaces, kitchenettes, hot tubs, ocean views. Excellent!
